We are seeking a First Line Risk Analyst to join our Operational Risk and Resilience function, providing  analysis and assurance.

The Role

Reporting into the Risk Manager, you’ll be a trusted partner providing First Line Risk analysis and assurance. You’ll be working alongside our SME for Risk Events, and FLR Risk Analysts for Reporting and Training stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and providing oversight of COO Risk Event Reporting via the Risk Management System (Magique)
  • Facilitating workshops for cross team activity to identify actions to resolve risk events
  • Analysing root cause and trends to produce reports for risk events
  • Analysing data to support risk management framework activity
  • Supporting the roll out of Magique across COO and Technology and ensure Risk and Control Registers are kept up to date and reflect recent risk events and actions
  • Supporting COO First Line Assurance Testing  
  • Providing Business Assurance testing in line with the risk profile to provide effective monitoring of the internal control environment
  • Performing regular assurance reviews of risk related policies/manuals
  • Understanding and awareness of the risk and control environment in your area of the business and adhere to processes and procedures in order to minimise risks

About You

We’d like to see the following:

Experience, knowledge and qualifications:

  • The ability to collect, analyse and interpret data
  • Knowledge of Process improvement techniques and control testing
  • The ability to coordinate plans and reports from different sources and track progress

Key skills, abilities and behaviours:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Operational Risk knowledge and preferably experience
  • Team Player
  • Competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • A drive to learn new systems and processes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and carry out reviews and activities, both as part of a small team and on your own initiative

This is a hybrid working position where the successful applicant will be required to work from our Head Office in Carlisle as required.
